I bought this kit afew months ago and ever since I opened the box I've only had a smile on my face. The 500D in itself is truly a nice SLR. I can honestly say its a perfect SLR for those who are compact point and shooters who want to upgrade to their first SLR Camera. There are a large number of automatic mode dials such as portraits,macro,Creative Auto and etc. These are great for new comers to the SLR world. The Manual mode is also quiet easy to use as Canon is very smart in the way they have layed out their menus and options so to those who find SLR photography have no fear. The 500D is the camera you should be buying. With 15 megapixels you will have high quality images and paired with an image stabilised lens such as the 18-55mm you will have even sharper photos. There is also video recording on this Camera with even full 1080HD movies. So not only will you be taking stunning photos you can also take real life flawless videos with sound. A wondefull combination for a camera is you ask me.rnrnI can go on all day about this great SLR but in all seriousness if you are looking to purchase your first SLR then this is the one for you. Canon has created a truly great camera that both new SLR users will find a joy to own but also a really adequate back up camera for those Professional Photographers.
