Hong Kong May 7, 2008 – Major online photographic retailer, DigitalRev Limited, recently opened its first retail store with the theme of “camera shopping as it should be” – A bold statement that will no doubt draw many different opinions.
“When was the last time you found yourself crowding at a store counter trying to get some help and advice? With easy sales often flowing in thanks to the improved economy, complacencies in service standards are more frequent and the larger number of shoppers often means that you are either stuck in a queue or just fighting for a moment of the salesperson’s time. Shopping should not be like that.” says DigitalRev’s chairman, Richard Yu as he explains what he hopes to achieve with the launch of the DigitalRev Store at Star House, TST. Delivering “shopping as it should be” is all about a relaxing atmosphere where you can take your time to test out the latest photographic equipment that are on display.
With an environment that is more like a camera gallery than a store, DigitalRev offers an atmosphere that you are not likely to expect from an electronics store but rather a luxury brand boutique. You won’t find boxes of products stacked from wall to wall there but rather a tasteful display with products arranged on table tops that you can simply reach out and take hold to test. Mixed with a touch of friendliness where you will be greeted by your personal assistant upon entry, you know that help is always a step away if you need while affording you the room to test out any or all of the cameras without having to get someone’s attention every time.
The store stocks over 600 photography related products, with the majority of them available for you to test drive including higher end cameras such as Canon EOS 5D or Nikon D300. If you are thinking of buying a camera but not really sure if it is the right for you, pick up one of the test cameras there and experiment until you have the answer. There is no need to be embarrassed as you are encouraged to test out as many as you like, whether you make a purchase or not.
