The Nikon D700 DSLR camera brings together groundbreaking technologies and performance into one conveniently compact form. Bearing Nikon’s full-frame FX-format SLR sensor, it features a highly sensitive 12.1 megapixels CMOS type sensor that provides a nice ISO range of 200 to 6400 which is also capable of extending to as low as 100 or into high extremes of 25600. This full-frame sensor also comes with self-cleaning capabilities that uses high frequency vibrations to reduce dust. Using Nikon’s renowned EXPEED image processing engine with 14-bit A/D conversion, it enables clean images with superb detail and tonal gradation at up to 5 frames per second (8fps with the optional MB-D10 battery pack and EN-EL4a battery).

The advanced Scene Recognition System delivers superior exposures and is supported by Nikon’s acclaimed 51-point AF system which offers outstanding tracking accuracy even in low light. DX crop mode can be automatically enabled when a DX format lens is attached. Active D-Lighting enables superior high-contrast images by automatically applying tone compensation at the moment of capture, showing the finest details no matter what the lighting situation may be. The incredible 920,000 dot 3-inch VGA LCD monitor provides a wide 170-degree viewing angle and becomes especially useful for when using the Live-View mode. The Live-View mode offers a choice of two types of autofocusing, Handheld and Tripod mode. Lastly, the Nikon D700 features an HDMI video output interface that enables connection to high-definition video systems for full enjoyment of images.
