The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2, successor to the DMC-LX1 has received worldwide acclaim for its broad selection of manual features and unique 16:9 wide-screen support. The camera inherits the f/2.8 28mm wide angle Leica DC lens, 4X optical zoom (28mm-112mm equivalent) and MEGA OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) system.
"Wide" seems to be the best adjective to describe the DMC-LX2's range of capabilities as it incorporates triple-"wide" features of a 28mm wide angle Leica DC lens, a 10.2-mega pixel 16:9 ratio CCD (designed specifically for taking wide-aspect shots) and a 16:9 wide LCD.
Leaping ahead of its predecessor, the noise that challenges the LX1 is dramatically reduced in the LX2 with Panasonic's new LSI Venus Engine III image processor. This alluring addition also helps to deliver improved image-quality. The LX2's excellent image stabilising system produces sharp, detailed images in every situation automatically. Anybody from advanced amateurs to entry-level users can experience the joys of this fine upgrade to an already charming camera.
