The
Ricoh G600 is a digital camera that understands the
rigors of outdoor activity. Constructed in a compact but tough body this camera
is one that can withstand water, dirt and impact. Water resistance is rated at
JIS protection grade 8, with underwater shooting up to a depth of 1 meter
possible. Dual resistance, at JIS protection grade 6, guards against
infiltration by dust and sand. The G600 can also handle cold environments, being
usable down to a temperature of -10 degrees Celsius. The G600 is also claimed to
pass a 1.5 meter shock resistance test according to US Department of Defense
standards.
With a 28mm-140mm optical zoom lens installed, the Ricoh G600 grabs the most of
your scenery with compelling ease and can zoom in dramatically at the 140mm
focal length. Amazing macro photography can be taken only 1 cm away from the
subject. No matter splash or rain, pictures are beautifully captured in 10
megapixels resolution with fine expression of minute details. Electronic blur
correction function is installed for use when photographing dim scenes or
utilizing the telephoto lens. While a built-in flash mode can reach up to 10m at
wide-angle, the G600 also reaches up to a high light sensitivity of ISO 3200.
The 2.7-inch wide angle monitor can be viewed and used easily outdoors.
