With the exception of fish-eye lenses, this super-wide angle lens is the only lens that can be used with both Digital SLR cameras and film SLR cameras and, at the same time, have 12mm focal length. Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements are provided for effective compensation of colour aberration - commonly a problem with super-wide angle lenses.

Using the Nikon D200 camera in combination with this lens can result in improper exposure. Please contact Sigma local shops for a free upgrade if the lens you bought was for a Nikon D200 Camera. However, the Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG HSM lens functions effectively with any other D-SLR cameras. Corresponding Mounts are: Nikon (D), Canon, Sigma.
