The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC MACRO HSM lens is specially designed for Nikon digital SLR cameras featuring an APS-C image sensor. With the incorporation of HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), this lens is capable of auto focusing silently.

Similar to the non HSM version, its large f2.8 aperture offers superior peripheral brightness, particularly suited to low-light photography. With a minimum focusing distance of 20cm or 7.9-inches and maximum magnification of 1:3, it is ideal for portraits and snapshots.

The Special Low Dispersion (SLD) and Extraordinary Low Dispersion (ELD) elements of the lens also correct for colour aberrations and its inner focus system makes it suitable for petal-type lens hoods and other circular polarising filters. Furthermore, the Sigma 18-50mm also scores high in the portability department by applying both glass-mold and hybrid aspherical lens technology to make it compact and lightweight.
