Sony NEX-5 w/ 18-55mm lens Field Test Hands-on Printer Friendly Version Email a friend Bookmark and Share
In this review, we continue to evaluate the new Sony NEX-5. After giving our first impressions last week, we continue to test the camera, this time with the kit 18-55mm zoom lens. Then we take it out for a field test to find out how it performs.

Kai says:
"Last week I took a look at the Sony NEX-5 with the 16mm f/2.8 and, well, I wasn't exactly blown away by it. The weather was truly awful, which meant the video had to be done in a bar (honestly I had no choice. This week I thought I'd test it out some more to see if I could come to any conclusions, this time with the 18-55mm kit lens, which is also sparkly and shiny. We took it out on a blazingly hot day, so no chance of the weather prematurely ending our shoot."

Very amateur review and lacks content or depth. That said, enjoy the humour .... slightly.

Link to the original review does not work! A 5min vid should have more info. \'Shooting\' around corners like James Bond - - give us a break. This is more like a vid for yourself to get into TV promos rather than a serious camera review. It\'s a waste of 5mins.

Thanks for the updated review, although it was a little long on the weather and short on detail. As the comments below state, you criticized the camera for not being sharp when you didn't bother to turn up the sharpness adjustment? Not everyone has the same tastes for sharpness. I'd like to know if the camera is able to take sharp pictures or if the default sharpness is simply set to a low value.
